Farming in Nigeria is not for the fainthearted. Intermittent electricity means generators are needed half the time. Chronically potholed roads make transport slow and expensive. Eyes for Zimbabwe' & Cecilie Lundgreen This is my story.... by Cecilie Lundgreen All my life I had been doing things for my family, my friends and of course myself. I had never really paid much attention to others in need. In February 2001 I was asked by Reeve Nield and Laurette Maritz to come to Zimbabwe and take part in their charity project 'Eyes for Zimbabwe', their goal was to 'give sight' to those suffering from blindness due to cataracts. I accepted and thought it would be a great African adventure and a good cause. In April 2001 I spent two weeks with nine other 'Ladies European Tour' Professionals in beautiful Zimbabwe, playing golf in fund-raising golf Pro-am's which raised money to purchase the MUCH needed medicines, medical supplies and equipment. All of whic...
Why the Zimbabwe coup is not a revolution. Subscribe to our channel! http://goo.gl/0bsAjO On November 14th 2017, Zimbabwe military troops drove tanks into the capital city, Harare. They patrolled the streets, blocked access to government buildings, and took over the state television station to insist…. This is not a military takeover of government. Once praised as a war hero, Robert Mugabe helped Zimbabwe win independence from Great Britain in 1980. He became president under Zimbabwe’s new constitution with the support of the people. But soon, he digressed into a repressive dictator. He secured his power through aggression and threats, there have been reports of state-sponsored torture and killings. And even though Zimbabwe is technically a democracy, there’s evidence Mugabe rigg...

A South African magistrate has thrown out a bid by 300 Zimbabwean farm workers who sought to recover 1.6 million rand, just about 117,000 dollars, from a Limpopo farmer. The workers accused the farmer of underpaying them for the last 10 years. Mr Van der Walt and nine other top managers had been dragged to court for assault and kidnapping of the Zimbabweans, but was freed after witnesses failed to show up several times at the courts. 36 of the witnesses failed to attend the trial when that country's Home Affairs Department deported them under the guise that they would be called when the trial resumes. The farmer was accused of forcing the Zimbabweans to work from 6 am to 11 pm, and paying them 70 rand instead of the government-stipulated 103 rand for an eight hour-shift per day
